The Little Victories

Life is full of small victories. Sometimes these victories come from a small gesture, a kind word, or a memory provided at just the right time.

These are some of my small moments, little victories, and triumphant reminders.

Our work is the Gospel.

The world is filled with people who believe that compassion is weakness, that cruelty is power, and that integrity is just another word in the dictionary. Instead of building up others, defending the helpless and doing justice for all, they decide that only money, fame and self interests matter.

Our culture is filled with people who do not comprehend the goodness of God, the beauty of His grace the wonders of His love, or their need of His mercy.

Our culture is filled with people who believe that power must be grabbed, held in a few select hands and abused to promote the good of the few at the expense of the many.

Our culture is filled with people, who just like us, must decide who and whose they will be, and how will they live in light of eternity.

May we remember that we are God's holy and beloved children, created in His image, called to lives of godly sincerity, here to do His will, and made to be vessels and conduits for the justice, compassion, and unconditional love of Jesus the Christ.

Good Morning Theophilus— 15 Sep 2025

Good morning! May the Lord God be good to us. May His favor fall on us like dew and drench us like the rain. May His grace open right doors and bring us the right opportunities. May His Spirit give us wisdom for the work, strength for our task, and the courage we need to bring Him glory and honor forever.

Good Morning Theophilus— 22 Sep 2025

May the Lord God be good to us. May His favor fall on us like dew and drench us like the rain. May His grace open right doors and bring us the right opportunities. May His Spirit give us wisdom for the work, strength for our task, divine companionship, encouragement and joy for the journey and the courage we need to bring Him glory and honor forever.

The Giver should get the glory

Name your strongest body builder, most tenacious competitor, funniest comedian, wisest counselor, most brilliant mind, best chef, most inventive and creative mind, greenest thumbed gardener, best parent, and the most generous and loving philanthropist.  Behind their strength, wisdom, power, humor, creativity, tenacity, love, innovation, generosity, brilliance, abilities and wonder is the God who created all things. Wouldn’t it be amazing if all of Creation honored our Creator?

May we, the Created, use all of our gifts and talents, grace and ability, and all else we have been endowed with to honor and glorify God who gave us our gifts!

The Giver should get the glory!

Our daily bread

If the best chef in the history of forever, at the best restaurant ever known, offered to feed us the the choicest and best for us foods, with the most inviting, beautiful and comforting presence in an atmosphere of love and joy, for free every day so long as we continued to show up, ask and enjoy the gifts from his table, would we show up?

LORD, we are showing up at Your table—Give us this day, LORD, our daily bread. For You are the true bread of life, You are the living water, You are a love beyond all we could imagine, and You feed our minds, bodies, and souls with what is best for us with the bill already paid by the life, death and resurrection of Christ Jesus!

Let us show up to the LORD’s table and go out filled and fueled to invite more people to join us in receiving His goodness and steadfast love!  Have a gloriously good day!

Lord God shape our hearts by Your hands

May the Lord God shape our hearts by His hands, turning our hearts to Him and transforming our thoughts, words and deeds so that what we say, think and do reflects the light and love, grace and truth, mercy and kindness of Christ.

May the Lord God shape our hearts and make us faithful, righteous and deeper in love with Him.

May the Lord God shape our hearts by His hands, turning our hearts to Him and making us fruitful and prosperous, with our blessings more numerous than we can count, and our favor from Him more abundant than can be weighed or measured.

May the Lord God shape our hearts and make us faithful, righteous and deeper in love with Him.

Lord we pray

Lord God, please increase our optimism, faithfulness and hope, anchor us in the compassion and peace of Christ and equip us to live with joy, positivity, power and love. By Your power, Lord God, lead us to do many, many great things in our marriage, at home in our families and throughout the world.

The perfect day, the right time

Today is the perfect day to recount God’s past faithfulness and countless victories, to remember His continued goodness and loving kindness, and to recall all of His precious promises to be with us and love us and to care for us always!  Right now is the perfect time to follow Him wholeheartedly and “trust His power and grace to carry us through.”

Let’s hope in God, not just because of all He has already helped us through, but because of who He is and always will be— the faithful, holy and sovereign God.

It’s still Easter!

Let us continue to walk in the irrepressible hope and joy of Easter and in the strength, power and love of the resurrection.

May we focus our hearts, minds, souls and praises on the God of unrelenting passion, unimaginable empathy and undiminished grace and compassion!!

God does not bow to us or kneel to our commands

Far too often we pray for a particular outcome, with a fixed expectation of what God can do according to our limitations, or what God should do because of our demands and desires. But thankfully God is not limited by our imagination nor restricted by our experiences and expectations, and He is most definitely not bound to our whimsical demands.

God does not bow to us or kneel to our commands

The Sovereign and Mighty God hears our prayers and answers with what is right and good, in ways that are best for our present and future, and with what will bring Him glory and honor. Best of all, He answers in ways that are always exceedingly and abundantly above everything we could ever ask or imagine through Christ.

Let us pray genuinely, thanking God for His goodness and love, and pray trusting that His wisdom will do what is needed, when it is needed, and for His glory and our good.

Keep the hope of Easter

“Dear friends, as He calls us up to Him, let us turn our backs to this world.  Let us take Christ as our Redeemer, as our Deliverer, as our Physician, as our Way, as our Truth, and as our Light.  May the blessing of heaven fall upon us all tonight; and may every man and woman here who is out of the kingdom, accept Him and press into His dominions.” — D.L. Moody

May our souls be set on fire with the power of the Holy Spirit and the freedom of everlasting life, forgiveness and love. Let us keep ourselves in the hope of the resurrection and fall on Christ

Be encouraged

May God provide us with people who will help us remember all of God’s blessings, teach us more about His kindness and favor, and send up prayers that bless us with His word.

May each of us be strong believers and compassionate encouragers, and have believers and encouragers around us, who will proclaim the nature and character and the goodness of the faithful God so that we will keep God at the center of our lives.

Speak the truth of Christ in response

Somewhere, someday we will meet someone who says that we are not enough— not smart enough, strong enough, rich enough, beautiful enough, or good enough. When this happens, let’s remind ourselves of the truth that we are the loved, beloved and chosen children of the Mighty God.

Let’s remember that we have the divine wisdom and power of the Holy Spirit, the refuge and shelter of the Lord Most High, the provision and peace of the Almighty, the riches of God’s grace and favor and an inheritance kept safe for us in the Heavens, and infinite worth proven by the blood bought victory and hope of the resurrection of Christ Jesus. Not to mention the inescapable fact that we have been equipped with every spiritual gift, and the strength to do all things, in Christ Jesus.

May we stand firm in our convictions that we are holy and beloved in Christ, and true indeed— we are enough because of who we are in Him!

Love you—Cassius
