JESUS, FOUNDER AND PERFECTER OF OUR FAITH

Hebrews 12:1-2 THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,
Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Trust. Praise. Hope

But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever. I will thank you forever, because you have done it. I will wait for your name, for it is good, in the presence of the godly.
Psalms 52:8‭-‬9 ESV

Trust in God’s unfailing love.  "God’s love will never fail 《~Ps 52.8》."  Praise God for His mighty deeds and wondrous works. Hope in God’s good and Holy Name. "In your name I will hope, for your name is good 《~Ps 52.9》."  May God fulfill all the "dreams and visions that [He has] put into your heart." May His strength, mercy and grace help you "face all the challenges and opposition  ahead" and be victorious.

Thought for today - 5.20.17

We are made in God’s image.  God has built us in a way such that our ultimate happiness and relief can only be found in Him. Our life works best when the mind, body, and spirit are all working within God’s plan and design.

Why were we created

Praising God is one of the main reasons for which you were created. It is like breathing for a Christian: “Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!” (Psalm 147:1) Praise acknowledges our smallness and his bigness; praise gives tribute to the brilliant Designer and Engineer of the universe; praise shows Christ that you appreciate his extremely expensive Calvary gift, all the more precious because it’s free; praise shows the Spirit that though you can’t see him, you know he’s at work in your world.

Worship saves us from being self-centred and makes us God-centred. You were created to live in a relationship with God. That should be your number one priority. If you put God first in your life all kinds of blessings follow
