The Little Victories

Life is full of small victories. Sometimes these victories come from a small gesture, a kind word, or a memory provided at just the right time.

These are some of my small moments, little victories, and triumphant reminders.

On Worship - C.S. Lewis

God wills our good, and our good is to love Him (with that responsive love proper to creatures) and to love Him we must know Him: and if we know Him, we shall in fact fall on our faces. If we do not, that only shows that what we are trying to love is not yet God—though it may be the nearest approximation to God which our thought and fantasy can attain.

Case for Christ

God gives us just enough evidence [of Him, His reality, His Sovereignty, His truth and His love] so that those who want Him can have Him.

On difficult people [From Randy Kilgore]

Eternal God remind "me that there is beauty in even the most difficult person if I can get close enough to discover it, and the pain they’re giving out may be reflective of the pain they are feeling. The apostle Paul says in Romans, 'If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone' (12:18). So I ask [you my God] to help me be patient with the 'hard side' [difficult, obnoxious, arrogant and unpleasant] side of others.

As we encounter difficult people, by God’s grace we can see and love them through His eyes.

By Your grace, Lord, help me to live peaceably with others. And help me to recognize when I’m the difficult person in other people’s lives and need Your intervention. Give me the will and desire to change."

Eternal God, you are gracious and merciful, and I pray that you would redeem these difficult relationships, teaching, training and enabling me to love more, and that unconditionally.  Help me to see the best, the future beauty, the upside, the brilliance, the hopes and yet unleashed potential, and the goodness in others so that we experience victory.
