Let us all think about this: "Our foolish choices, endless arguments, mistreating of one another, acting out, being entitled and demanding, acting as if we have wisdom that we don’t, questioning authority, finding 'no' more natural to say than 'yes,' being seemingly scarily attracted to the world, our seemingly lack of interest in the things of the Lord, pouting when we don’t get our way, our infantile and unhealthy desire to be right and in control of our lives, and our refusing to be happy until we get what we want, when we want and how we want... these things are moment-by-moment symptoms of a deep, abiding, and inescapable need that we came into the world with."
These desires are deep down inside. So deep that we, alone, can't change them or fix ourselves. We need rescue. We need God. We need heart change. We need grace. We need surrender. We need Christ! And we need Him deep down inside if we are ever going to be free from the sin that so easily entangles us.
God, you are good. I need you. We need you. They need you. Heal our deepest need. Amen.
